Joseph R. Pate

Joseph R. Pate practices in criminal defense, family law and real estate transactions. Mr. Pate was admitted to practice law in the State of Florida in 2005.

Mr. Pate began his career as an Assistant State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit and tried felony and misdemeanor cases ranging from Armed Robberies to Driving Under the Influence. Additionally, Mr. Pate has co-chaired several 1st degree felony cases. Mr. Pate also has extensive experience trying felony and misdemeanor cases in Juvenile Court.

In 2008, Mr. Pate commenced his career as a criminal defense and family law lawyer working in the private sector. Additionally, with his experience building custom made homes, Mr. Pate became involved with real estate and mortgage law.

Mr. Pate attended Emory University for his undergraduate studies, obtaining a B.A. with a double major in History and Sociology with a minor in Violence Studies. During his undergraduate, Mr. Pate interned at the Dekalb Historical Society creating databases for various historic court logs tracing patterns of criminal court cases. Mr. Pate also dedicated his time to the community volunteering at the Georgia Indigent Defense Council assisting attorneys by meeting with clients who had been found incompetent to stand trial and not guilty by reason of insanity.

Mr. Pate continued his education by pursuing his law degree at the University of Miami College of Law. During his time at law school, Mr. Pate interned at the Law Offices of James Walker and also worked with a Sports and Entertainment Agency, Revolution Sports. He continued to demonstrate passion for his community while in Miami by becoming an assistant football coach for Coral Gables High School.

Mr. Pate is also a member of the Orange County Bar Association, the Osceola Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
